About us

ADRIATIC Agency is a Croatian company founded in 2014 in Zagreb, where our headquarters are also located. We direct our business activities toward both the domestic and international markets, with a particular focus on countries of the European Union.

We employ workers from Croatia and the wider region, as well as workers from the Philippines. For workers who require it, we manage the entire work permit application process, and for workers subject to a visa regime, we also handle the visa application procedure.

We are an accredited employer recognized by the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), which operates under the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and is responsible for overseeing and regulating the employment of Filipino nationals.

Clients of the Adriatic Agency in Croatia are primarily hotels and other hospitality establishments along the Adriatic coast, followed by manufacturing, trading, and other companies.

The Adriatic Agency has also been cooperating for many years with clients from the EU, primarily in the transport sector (professional drivers in international transport) and the automotive industry.

What do we do?

Agency work is a model in which our Company, as the employer, assigns its employee (an agency worker) to a client, i.e. the user company. In this arrangement, we sign an Employment Contract with the worker and an Assignment Agreement with the user company.

We operate exclusively according to a legally regulated business model and are also among the first members of the community of employment agencies within the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. The agency offers the assignment of workers employed with us (at the agency) for temporary work at the client company.

The agency employs workers, manages their administrative records, calculates and pays their salaries. Workers accrue employment tenure, are registered for health and pension insurance, and are entitled to a proportional number of vacation days, sick leave, holidays, and days off. The agency assigns them to work for its clients, where the workers perform their duties under the client’s supervision.

Agency work / temporary employment is a concept well established in Croatia, and especially in EU countries. The core of the concept is that the agency assigns its worker (an agency worker) to a client, i.e., the user company, signing an Assignment Agreement with the client and an Employment Contract with the worker.

How is the relationship between the Client – Agency – Worker defined?

The relationship between ADRIATIC Agency and the Client is governed by a Worker Assignment Agreement and ADRIATIC Agency’s General Terms and Conditions. The Agreement specifies in detail the obligations of both the Client and ADRIATIC Agency, as well as other specifics related to the particular job position. The worker signs an Employment Contract with ADRIATIC Agency in accordance with legal regulations, thereby making the worker available to the Client.

What models of cooperation for hiring workers does ADRIATIC Agency offer its Clients?

ADRIATIC Agency offers its clients two main models of cooperation tailored to their needs: the administration (payroll) model and the hourly work model. Other models may also be possible if mutually agreed upon and in compliance with legal regulations.

What happens if we hire a person who does not meet our requirements?

According to the Agreement ADRIATIC Agency signs with clients, if it turns out that a candidate does not meet the position’s requirements, ADRIATIC Agency will continue searching for the optimal candidate at no additional cost to the Client.

Which administrative tasks does ADRIATIC Agency handle for its Client if the Client decides to hire an agency worker?

ADRIATIC Agency relieves its Client (you) of all administrative tasks related to assigned workers. This includes signing Employment Contracts, calculating and paying salaries, paying contributions, registering and deregistering with the pension and health insurance authorities, maintaining mandatory monthly and annual records, tracking vacation and sick leave, and preparing all legally required reports for the relevant authorities.

What obligations does the Client have toward the workers?

The Client is obliged to comply with legal provisions and regulations under the Labor Law, which govern occupational health and safety, as well as special protection for certain groups of workers. This includes providing protective clothing and footwear if required by the nature of the work, unless otherwise specified in the agreement. The Client is also responsible for organizing the workers’ tasks according to defined work processes, assigning workers to specific duties, and maintaining records of workers’ attendance at the workplace.
